The curl trick

If you've used the Curl Gel Oil or the Medium Hold Modeling Gel, your curls will dry with a firm cast. Mix a little of this gum with a drop of OI Oil in your palms and scrunch it through to break the cast. The gum redefines each curl as the cast opens up; the oil softens the finish and adds shine. It's how you get soft, defined curls rather than crispy ones.

Who it's not for

If you need strong, locked-in hold or a wet look, this is too soft for the job — the Strong Hold Cream Gel does that.

How to use it

Take a small amount on your fingertips and rub between your palms. Work through dry hair, twisting or pinching sections for definition. Build up gradually.
