Using it on curls — and the step people miss

Work a small amount through damp hair, scrunch, then diffuse or air-dry. As it dries it forms a firm cast over the curl. That's meant to happen. Wait until the hair is completely dry, then scrunch with your hands to break the cast open — that's what leaves you with soft, defined curls instead of crispy ones.

A drop of OI Oil on your palms before you break the cast works well. It softens the finish and adds shine without loosening the shape.

Using it for a wet look

Straight onto damp or dry hair, comb through, shape it, leave it. No cast to break — the set finish is the look.
